There are some students who cannot afford to vacation anywhere outside the United States. But there are also those who can afford to travel longer distances. One great place that students could choose to vacation is Negril, Jamaica. Summer holidays are, like Christmas, a catalyst for divorce. 2 weeks spent in close proximity, away from the usual routine, can spell disaster. These are my top tips for a successful summer holiday.

· Find a resort that caters for both/all of you. If one of you wants a beach holiday and the other wants golf, water sports, sightseeing or history then find somewhere that has both.

· Agree to spend time apart doing your 'own things' if you have different ideas of a good holiday. It doesn't matter if you spend all day apart as long as you spend evenings together (and one person doesn't end up looking after the kids all the time).

· If self-catering share the chores. It is a holiday for everyone.

· Have at least two romantic dinners on your own. Find a babysitting service for the kids. Treat it as a date, hold hands and talk to each other. Why not flirt - we forget to flirt with each other once we have been married for a while.

· Leave Blackberrys and laptops at home. You are on holiday and the office will have to cope without you. It is absolutely not fine to work when you are on holiday. You need to relax completely and it is guaranteed to annoy your spouse/partner.

· Take plenty of books/magazines. Reading is a great way of really relaxing.

· Don't drink too much. You're more likely to argue and you'll waste the next day feeling dreadful.

· If you have kids, book somewhere with a kids club and a babysitting service.

· Why not go on holiday with friends who have children the same age as yours. You can take turns babysitting and you are less likely to argue in front of another couple.

· Remember what it was that first attracted you to each other and to rekindle your old feelings.

The reason these models are in such great shape is because they take good care of their bodies. For these men and women, their bodies are their livelihood, their "bread and butter" so to speak. These people take very good care of their bodies, they watch what they eat, they drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and they follow strict work out regimens which help them stay in optimum condition.

A bikini fitness model takes care of his or her self constantly, and he or she stays motivated to do so by the fact that they FEEL better than the average person who doesn't take care of themselves, as well as the fact that they don't have much choice. Denia is a popular tourist resort which is located to the north of Javea. It is located along the northern side of the Costa Blanca coast line which connects this city to Torrevieja a very popular tourist destination. The weather is just what you would expect from a city in Costa Blanca, the summers are nice and hot but the winters are still quite mild. There is rarely any rain in this area, and it enjoys 320 days of sunny weather every year!

This city is pretty much in the middle of two popular airports. It is possible for visitors to this region to fly into either Valencia or Alicante airport. Each takes around an hour and a quarter by car to the city.

The easiest way to get around once you have arrived is to hire a car. This allows you plenty of freedom to travel the area in comfort. It's possible to hire cars at the airport or in the city. It is a good idea to reserve your car before travelling in case they run out.

Things to do in Denia

Denia is still very much a working town, you will be able to experience a very authentic Spanish experience which you won't get in many of the more tourist areas. You can still visit the larger cities for day trips, especially if you hired a car.

Another huge benefit of this town is that it doesn't shut down in the winter. Many of the tourist areas are only open during the peak period and then will shut. Here all of the stores will remain open all year round, this is great if you are planning to visit out of season.

There are quite a few really good spas in and around Denia. Spas are my favorite way to relax, it's so relaxing and makes you feel at ease. You can find spas near the mountain areas and beaches.

There is also a very historic castle which was built way back in the 16th century. This is somewhat of a landmark, and it is possible to tour this castle throughout the year.

Enjoying Nature in Denia

Denia and Javea are physically separated by a large mountain called Montgo Mountain. This has many great routes for walkers and hikers. You can either explore these on your own, or go with a walking tour. This is fantastic because you get to experience nature up close and personal. When climbing the mountain you will see some truly amazing views of the town.

Denia has 20km of beautiful beaches, these are all sandy and very clean. These beaches have received the blue flag award for quite a few years. You will no doubt love spending time soaking up the sun on these beaches.

Denia can also offer a wide range of water sports if that floats your boat! There is diving, wind surfing and snorkeling. There are some fantastic dives around the southern beaches.

If you are looking for the hustle bustle of a big city with pollution, crime and more buildings than people, Nosara Costa Rica is not the place for you. This is a town that is in many ways unaffected by so much of the modern problems of life. Things there are simpler and purer, like taking a step back in time in many ways. Topping that off is the fact that there is plenty of ocean coastline to enjoy with six beautiful beaches and unlike many beautiful ocean areas they are not covered in homes and businesses.

Ostional Wildlife Refuge Keep Beaches Protected

The obvious lack of development on most of the beaches of Nosara, Costa Rica is due to the Ostional Wildlife Refuge that covers a large part of this prime oceanfront property and is designated to protect the Olive Ridley marine turtles that nest there. This property is safe from builders, at least momentarily while these marine turtles are an endangered species.

Untouched Beaches

It is almost hard to believe there is still an unspoiled beach with a dramatic view of the ocean and so much wildlife left here to enjoy. In fact, the Nosara beaches received an award from the Costa Rican government for their commitment to preserving wildlife and taking care of the environment. The Nosara Civic department is absolutely dedicated to their preservation efforts and has been extremely conservative in their development, landing them the honor of being one of the most eco-friendly communities in the world.

There's No Place like Home

There's no place like home, especially once you have found a special place like Nosara Costa Rica to live in. Life moves at a slower pace and people still care about each other is this little ocean town. Fishing and farming are ways of life and there are very few small businesses in town.

Roughing It

Not all hotels have air conditioning or even hot water. You could almost consider Nosara as the "outback" of Costa Rica and you can make quite an adventure out of a visit here. There are snakes, scorpions, wasps and spiders, but they aren't all that threatening and don't usually seem to cause much concern. The few minor inconveniences are more than made up for by the unspoiled natural beauty of the beaches in the area and the pleasant warmth of the people that live here.

If you ever have the chance to visit Costa Rica you will want to take the time to visit Nosara. There are few places left on earth that are still so naturally beautiful and so unspoiled.

All over the country and indeed, all over the world, bikers and motorcycle enthusiasts will be taking to the streets to visit and participate in conventions, expositions, rallies, rides, festivals and other events. Here are some of the largest and most popular motorcycle events in the U.S.

Sturgis Motorcycle Rally

Pretty much the top event of its kind in the nation, the Sturgis Rally is held in Sturgis, South Dakota during the first week of August. Considered a "classic" rally, due to its inception in 1938, the rally draws motorcycle enthusiasts from all walks of life, including families as well as die hard bikers. Annual attendance can sometimes reach over 500,000 people.

Americade

This "touring rally" bills itself as the world's largest. It takes place in Lake George Village, New York every year during June. This event attracts over 50,000 people.

Bikes, Blues and BBQ

This is an event held in Fayetteville, Arkansas during September or October each year. This event starts of with a ride into the city from the beautiful Ozarks. The rally began in 2000 but has since grown to become the fastest growing rally in the world, hosting over 350,000 people in 2006 alone. One of the main events at Bikes, Blues and BBQ is a barbecue. This event also benefits charity and is considered to be very family friendly, with many bikers bringing their children.

Daytona Beach Bike Week

This event consists of a rally, street festival, concerts and many parties in Daytona Beach, Florida. Regularly attracting 500,000 people and up each March, this event competes with the Sturgis rally for the title of the largest and most popular motorcycle event during the year. A motorcycle race is a big part of this event, covering a 3.2 mile course that switches back and forth between pavement and beach. The event is held over a period of 10 days and also hosts a classic and custom bike show as well as a clambake and seafood festival.

Laconia Motorcycle Week

This is another rally type event held each June in Laconia, New Hampshire. Laconia Motorcycle Week features a wide variety of events including vintage races, swap meets, tours, fireworks, concerts, bike demos and bike shows.

Laughlin River Run

The largest motorcycle "run" in the western U.S., the Laughlin River Run is held each April in Laughlin, Nevada. Festivities include concerts, bike shows, charity events and a Poker Run.

Love Ride

A Southern California event, it bills itself as the largest one day motorcycle event. Largely a fund raiser, the ride boasts a range of celebrities as participants including talk show host Jay Leno, a well known auto enthusiast. Also joining the ride, celebs like Larry Hagman, Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, Hulk Hogan, Steven Tyler, Mary Hart, Pat Boone, Nancy Sinatra and Pamela Anderson. This event takes place each October and will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2008.

Teenagers in thongs is not something that most parents really want to even think about regarding their own teenagers. Thongs are very revealing articles of lingerie, or swim suit style. Therefore, when it comes down to whether they are a good idea for teenagers or not would seem to depend totally on how and where the thongs are to be worn.

First, let's look at what a thong actually IS. Most people are familiar with g-strings. While a g-string is one tiny strip of material going down, the thong is wider and has a bit more of a triangular shape. And yes, they are quite revealing.

While a lot of parents don't realize it, there are many teenagers in thongs running around today. Of course the only way you would probably know is if the teenager told you. It is a very popular underwear style and is worn by a large number of teenage girls. If your teenage daughter simply wants to wear thong underwear, this is really not such a big deal. As underwear is worn UNDER the clothes, no one else is going to realize that she is actually wearing a thong, except for her girl friends. So, you can see it is no different than wearing any other style of underwear.

However, there are also swimsuit styles which feature the bottom half as a thong. This is a good time to sit your teenager down and have a chat about the limits of decency, as she may not realize just how much of her body she will be showing on a beach to strangers. A thong style swimsuit belongs in the pages of men's magazines and not on your teenage daughter. Poolside is not really when you want to see teenagers in thongs.

Some teenage girls will be quite rebellious when parents put their foot down on clothing styles. If your daughter is one of these, you may be in for a difficult time. But, as a parent, you have the responsibility of trying to teach your teenager the differences between attractive and trashy. She needs to understand that people, particularly males, who see her sashaying about in her thong swimsuit are going to think all sorts of inappropriate thoughts about her. Teenagers in thongs are very much on display in a public setting.

Compromising with your teenager might be a workable solution. You could agree to let her wear thong underwear, but she will have to give up the idea of a thong swimsuit until she is old enough to decide for herself how she wants to be viewed by others. Hopefully, by the time she is of legal age to do so, she will realize that it is not only teenagers in thongs that is a bad idea.

Waves crash upon the beach mere steps from the comfort of the shaded hammock
that envelopes me like a cocoon. A cool drink appears by my side. I drag a foot in
the sand while swaying side to side and gaze out upon the endless ocean in front of
me. The drink cools me from the inside out and I wonder... am I awake, or am I
dreaming? If I’m dreaming, let no one wake me.

Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort & Spa is someplace very easy to get to but
very hard to leave. Located mid-way between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San
Lucas, this oceanfront resort is just as gorgeous as the land that surrounds it. From
the time you arrive and spot your name posted on a welcome board near the
bellman’s kiosk, you just know this is going to be something special. Once greeted
by a porter who quickly checks your bags, you’re led to the front desk where both
warm smiles and cold champagne flow freely. Minutes later you’re escorted through
arched corridors to your ocean view room, champagne glass in hand. If you’re like
me, the first thing you do is walk to the balcony to see what you can see. I liked
what I saw... nothing but beach and clean, blue water.

The architecture melds open-air hacienda and colonial Mexican design into a
golden seaside gem. Elaborate columns line marble floored corridors, waterscapes
and lush landscaping, rich woods and unique artworks create an elegant
atmosphere. Everywhere you look there are arches. From the impressive entrance to
the front desk, these arches engage the eyes and call attention to fountains, palm
trees and at night, gas braziers that light the many levels of the resort with their
dancing flames. Multi-colored lighting bathes the grounds in warm and exotic hues
furthering the beauty that is Dreams Los Cabos. The feeling is one of grace and
refinement but without any pretentiousness.

Dreams Los Cabos boasts 308 ocean view suites. The décor is bright and
understated with first-class furnishings and upscale amenities such as robes and
slippers, a welcome fruit basket and more champagne on ice, an impressive feat as
we were several hours late yet the ice had just begun to melt. The first impression is
that the management is focused on pampering their guests and they have
assembled a well-trained and courteous staff to accomplish the task.

Suites range from Juniors that offer one king or two double beds, a sitting area with
sofa and coffee table and a writing table with high-speed data ports for those that
need to keep in touch or check on business issues. The next level up is the resort’s
Luxury Suites with all of the amenities of the Junior Suite but with a separate living
room with dining area. Continue up the scale and you’ll find Honeymoon Suites,
Governor Suites, Corner Suites, two bedroom Master Suites and the crème de la
crème - Presidential Suites with two or three bedrooms, courtyard entrances and as
many as three terraces. All rooms have ocean views.

Dreams Los Cabos is an all-inclusive resort, an ever-growing segment of the Cabo
resort scene, and does all-inclusive in a grand manner. Unlike most other all-
inclusive resorts, the all-inclusive concept here even carries over to the in-room
bar. No airline mini-bottles or cheap, off-brand libations ever make it into the
rooms. If you’re looking for an afternoon pick-me-up or a before dinner drink, you
need not venture from your room as both liquor and mixers are full-sized, top shelf
and part of the package. Staff members replenish both the bar and the in-room
refrigerator daily and early. The usual accoutrements can also be found in-room
including coffee maker, iron and ironing board, plus a plethora of luxury toiletries in
the marble and tile bathrooms.

There is no shortage of choices when it comes time to satisfy an appetite. With five
restaurants on-site, waiting for a table or being confined to a limited menu is not an
issue you’ll have to face at Dreams. For morning fare, order in from room service or
visit El Patio or the Seaside Grill both of which open at 7:00 AM. For lunch your
choices grow with Oceana joining El Patio and the Seaside Grill with lunch hour
extended until 3:00 PM at El Patio, 4:00 PM at Oceana and until 5:00 PM at the
Seaside. Go ahead, work on your tan a little longer, Dreams has what you need
whenever you’re ready. Dinner means even more options as both Himitsu, serving
Pan Asian cuisine and Portofino, serving Italian specialties, join the mix with all five
eateries serving dinner nightly until 10:00 or 11:00 PM. Looking for a little romance?
The staff will arrange dinner on the sand with Tiki torches and candles. Still not
enough options for you? Twenty-four hour room service is just a phone call away.

In addition to the wide variety of fare conjured up by the staff at Dreams, theme
parties, nightly live music and an outdoor movie screen add to the mix. If you’re old
enough to remember the good old days when drive-in movies were part of
American culture, you’re in for a real treat. Lay back in a padded chaise lounge,
order a cocktail and enjoy a good movie while under the stars. Just know that it’s
not always easy to keep your eyes on the screen when what surrounds you is as
beautiful as the night sky in Los Cabos.

With football season just beginning, Monday nights may never be the same. Tailgate
parties are part of the program and those hungering for good old-fashioned tailgate
foods can sink their teeth into nachos, hamburgers, hot dogs and all things football.
If the Philadelphia Eagles are playing, look for Philly cheese steaks, it it’s the
Chicago Bears, grab a slice of Chicago style pizza. It’s almost as if they invented the
game here. The surround sound system makes you feel the game, not just watch it
and there is nothing like a happy and loose crowd to make a game all the fun it’s
supposed to be.

Recreational activities are a big part of why Cabo has become the vibrant tourist
Mecca it is. On-site, the resort has a variety of things to do to pass the time
including a bungee jumper, aerobics classes, full gym and fitness center and a host
of game courts that dot the premises from tennis to volleyball and croquet. Off-site
activities can be arranged by the helpful concierge staff and include hiking and
mountain biking, golf, ATV tours and sightseeing. For those with more of an aquatic
nature, try your luck sport fishing, dive with the fishes in the Sea of Cortez, or take
to the sea on your own personal watercraft just to name a few.

Children are not forgotten at Dreams with the Explorer’s Club for Kids. The fully
supervised program is designed to entertain and enlighten the younger crowd.
Activities change daily and are not only fun but educational as well. Children explore
the worlds of science and nature and are encouraged to take part in such events as
weekly campouts in tents at the club. Parents can rest easy knowing that their
children are safe and secure - the resort even supplies a pager so that getting in
touch with a parent is fast and easy should the need arise.

For many, all the recreation wanted is the simple pleasure of sunbathing poolside
and that group will not be disappointed. Dreams Los Cabos three picture-perfect
pools, two with swim up bars, are a sun-worshippers paradise. Pool service is very
attentive and the lush gardens that surround them are just spectacular. If it gets a
little to hot, grab a pool float.

After a long day of tanning, golf or fishing, nothing rejuvenates like a little time in
the spa. From facials to massage to Salt Glow therapy, the Spa at Dreams is ready,
willing and able to pamper even the most discriminating traveler. If the tanning
wore you out and you can’t leave your room, that’s okay, they’ll come to you.

As a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts Dreams Los Cabos sets a high standard
and does not fail to meet it, in fact, it exceeded my expectations and that is no
small undertaking. Wonderful architecture, outstanding staff, well appointed rooms
and attention to detail make this place a dream, just not one that I wish to wake
from.

Spring break 2009 will be a very memorable experience for most college students. Its very important to know which packages are worth the money. Its also important to know which trips are popular if you want to be where the action is.

Price is the main factor for spring break vacations. Most students can't afford to pay $1000 for spring break. If you take this into consideration, you can eliminate many packages right off the bat. Stay in the sub $500 category if you want to be with the majority.

Try to concentrate on the key elements of each package. Don't be hypnotized by free food and drink promotions and other incentives that typically turn out to be worthless. The internet is full of travel agencies that offer this type of incentive. They usually end up being available to anyone at the destination. Many businesses and hotels offer 2 for 1 drinks specials and free food (such as buffalo wings) during the month of March. This type of thing is available to anyone, its not exclusive to one package.

Look for packages that offer more social interaction. Flight packages are expensive, plus its hard to move around and talk to your friends. Spring break cruises offer more freedom, and the party starts when you board the ship. This is not the case with flight packages. The party starts when you arrive at the hotel with a flight package. Many college spring break students are starting to realize they can have just as much fun traveling to the destination.

Spring break 2009 can be your best ever. Do your homework and find the best package for you and your group.

Dream Beach Holidays - Unforgettable Chapwani

What I wanted was dream beach holidays and I had read up a lot on this particular spot whose fame is rapidly spreading, but none of it prepared me for the serene beauty and unique aspect of Chapwani Island in East Africa. I am lost for words to describe what it felt like being away from it all listening to the waves quietly lap up at the shore of my bungalow while I watched the sun set in the horizon.

This is a very private exclusive island that you can only get to by boat but the price is surprisingly affordable for a dream beach holiday like the one I enjoyed here.

No chance of crowded beaches here because the island has a maximum capacity of 20 visitors only at a time or rather 10 couples housed in some beautiful bungalows overlooking the beach. Definitely the place for those looking for a little privacy in their holiday. And yet there was no shortage of activities. I explored the island and picked up shells and swam close to the shores of the dream island wondering where it had been all my life. And then there was the swimming pool to idle away some more hours in this serene East African island.

No kidding, this has got to be the most romantic place on earth. Also ideal for honeymoons I must say. Just imagine for a minute a candle-lit dinner right on the beach with the one you love seated across the table enjoying a sumptuous dinner made by the kind of chef you would never dream would be marooned in this dream island in the middle of nowhere.

Interestingly the weather is a wee bit cooler here for those who find the heat in other tropical beaches a little unbearable.

This was one dream beach holiday that I would love to experience again pretty soon.

It's very rare to break a leg surfing. But surfing carries its own inherent dangers. Forewarned is forearmed.

Drowning is the most obvious risk from surfing and there are a dozen ways to unintentionally raise the odds.

Not being prepared to surf is the first way. Surfing requires being fit, being able to swim well and then getting some training. Even the most advanced surfers fall of their boards.

When that happens you'll have to locate your board if it isn't attached to you by a safety leash to your ankle, then paddle back. If you lose your board or it washes ashore, you have to swim back. Either requires a lot of stamina, especially when there are strong currents, which is often the case. Get fit for surfing and ensure that you are a strong swimmer before going out into the water.

Not being alert is the second most common cause of problems while surfing.

For a sport that looks simple, there's a surprising number of things to be aware of at all times. Winds near the shore can shift rapidly, pushing you off your board. Current eddies and riptides can keep you from swimming ashore easily.

Other surfers, especially inexperienced ones, can fail to look out for you. That means you have to look out for them. Crossing boards in the water is never a happy experience for anyone. Give priority to the surfer closest to the break. Even if someone else is being rude and not following the surfer's etiquette, don't lose your cool. That leads to accidents, or worse.

Underwater rocks, coral reefs and other unseen formations can damage you and your board. Even visible jetties can be a problem, since most of the formation is unseen. Jellyfish and other creatures can deliver a nasty sting. Watch out for all these by getting familiar with the common water movements that signal their presence.

Failure to exercise common sense and good judgment is another leading cause of injury for too many surfers. When you're beginning, it's easy to get carried away with the excitement and challenge. It's great to be enthusiastic, but don't take on waves bigger than your skills can handle. Don't be too eager to shoot a curl or surf among the pier pilings because it looks cool.

Always surf with at least one buddy. If you run into trouble, he or she can help you out. One of you can make for shore and get help, if needed. Sometimes two surfers can be put in trouble by the same event, but the odds are more in your favor if you pair up.

It should be obvious by now that these are all common sense reminders. That's a signal that it doesn't require advanced surfing experience to recognize the dangers and avoid them. Just keep it together and you'll have that much more time for surfing. Injuries take you out of the game.

Another important safety tip, relates to skin protection. Wear UV protective swimsuits is the best type of skin protection, along with sunglasses, and applying sunscreens on exposed skin. So make sure you have your UV protection gear each time you go out surfing.

Are you planning on getting inked on your college spring break? If so, then you need to take into account important aspects of getting a tattoo and the recovery process.

A tattooing session with close friends at a spring break destination can be a fun even meaningful rite of passage to commemorate a free-wheeling time of your life. However, for health and safety along with your satisfaction with the artistic results, you should stick to some standard advice about tattoos.

1. Prescreen your tattoo artist with questions about sanitation of the tattoo equipment and ask to see samples of the artist's work. You should feel comfortable with the artist and feel like that person is willing to answer questions and help make your tattoo experience positive. Just letting any available tattoo artist permanently apply art to your skin is throwing the dice in regards to the final results. You want someone with proven experience and a style that you like. Don't settle. A whole world of tattoo artists is out there from which you can choose.

2. Know ahead of time that you want to get a tattoo. A spur of the moment tattoo, especially if it is your first one, has a lower chance of pleasing you for the rest of your life. Something that strikes your fancy at a particular point in your life might prove embarrassing in later years. Just do an internet search for "bad tattoos" and see what kind of poor choices can happen. If you have been thinking about getting a tattoo for some time, however, and have some design concepts in mind, your spring break might provide you with the time and opportunity to get a tattoo that you like.

3. Healing from a tattoo takes time. For a couple weeks a tattoo is an open wound that needs to be kept clean, bandaged, and dry. The tattoo wound can also cause you various degrees of discomfort. Avoid letting a fresh and painful tattoo ruin your spring break vacation. During that first week or two after a tattoo you must avoid swimming and bathing. That means limited fun at the beach and no pools or hot tubs. Your best approach would be to get your tattoo on the last day of your vacation if you are at a resort destination after you have indulged in wet and wild fun. If you are not traveling during spring break, then you might consider getting it on the first day of your week off so you can lounge around during the initial days of your recovery.

Wherever and whenever you get a tattoo, make sure that it is done by a talented artist in a sanitary setting. And of course choose a design that you can enjoy for hopefully the rest of your life. Tattoo removal is costly and painful, so try to avoid any inking on spring break that you will later regret.

Brief History of Nudism and Naturism

When scientists did a study on the genetic makeup of the common body louse, they were able to establish the approximate time that human beings first began to wear clothing. The louse is a parasite that feed on the human body, but can not do so with out clothing. The testing showed that humans first began to wear clothing 72,000 years ago. Since Homo sapiens have been around for 200,000 years, it appears that all humans have been nudists for over half the existence of the species.

In the historical area, there were less social and moral issues involved with nudity during the Classical period. In ancient Greece the human body was viewed as beautiful and was the subject of art. Athletes commonly were nude as they competed in events against each other, and the word gymnasium comes from the Greek root, gymnos, which means nude.

Although the first nudist colonies were established in British India in 1891, it was in Germany that the naturism movement really began. In the early 1900’s several papers were published that advocated the idea that the human body was neither sinful nor obscene. They talked of the concepts of self hate, and shame. The first nudist colonies were opened in Germany around 1903, and grew into popularity during the 1920’s. They were suppressed by the Nazi party, but never completely eliminated.

The Germans seemed to be the missionaries of the Naturism movement. In the 1960’s German’s vacationing along the Mediterranean coast in France began nudist colonies, and nudist beaches and nudist resorts grew in popularity there. The movement had its early beginning in North America in 1929 when a German immigrant named Kurt Barthel opened a colony in the United States. In the early days of the movement in America, nudism became associated with family values and alcohol was prohibited from all activities.

Despite the attempt to associate high moral standards with the nudism movement it was subjected to much harassment and misunderstanding due to the prevailing social climate in the country that saw nudism as a sexual and even pornographic activity. Over the past three decades this has largely changed. Nudist vacations became more common, and nudism lost some of its social stigma. Nudism became less restrictive as well and clothing optional gathering became more common. Topless beaches also became popular, and the organized nudist movement made strides in erasing the negative perception of nudism.

Beaches and Weather in Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya Mexico/p>

Millions of people a year flock to Playa del Carmen, and the Riviera Maya, to escape cold weather, get a reprieve from work pressures, and take time off for serious rest and relaxation. The major attractions to the area are the white sandy beaches, the amazing crystalline waters, the laid back Caribbean attitude, and the warm tropical weather.

The climate in the Riviera Maya is semi-tropical, with an average yearly temperature of 80° degrees Fahrenheit (26 ° Celsius), which can rise to 100° degrees Fahrenheit (37.7° Celsius) in the hot summer months. June first is official start of hurricane season and ends on November 30th. From November to April, which is considered high season here;it is hot and sunny during the day and cool and breezy at night.

February to May February, March, April, and May are beautiful in The Rivera Maya. The Caribbean Sea is calm and clear and as summer approaches the water temperatures gradually rise. With warmer waters by May this is usually the time that the jelly fish, or "agua mala" come to our shores. So May is a perfect time of year to go cenote hunting! Nights can still be cool, but a sweater is rarely needed.
June to August During the summer months Playa del Carmen and The Rivera Maya are hot, hot, hot! The humidity rises so afternoons are steamy and hot. We highly recommend you stay close to a water source. The Caribbean is so warm you can float the day away, and the cenotes stay at an even 78 degrees (25.5C) which is always refreshing. There is some rainfall in the afternoon and evenings, but it never lasts very long. The nights do not get much cooler so for a truly good night sleep air-conditioning and a good fan are highly recommended.
September and October September and October are considered the height of the hurricane and tropical storm season. We also can get a fair amount of rain during these months, however it doesn't rain everyday. It is still hot and humid with days and evenings registering similar temperatures.
November to January These are the coolest months in Playa del Carmen and the surrounding areas, which means it is warm and sunny during the day and cool and breezy in the evenings. Rain is very rare during this time of year, but evenings can bring temps in the high 60's (15.5C) so a sweater is recommended.

Warm weather wear: Playa del Carmen and The Rivera Maya's weather does not fluctuate that significantly though out the year. It is the tropics so lightweight cotton clothing, beach wraps (pareos),, and bathing suits are what you spend the majority of your time in. During the day, the climate is hot and light clothing, such as shorts and tank tops, are recommended. During the evenings you may need a light sweater or jacket depending on the time of year. For trips into the jungle, you should wear pants, long-sleeved shirts and shoes in order to fend off mosquitoes and other insect bites. Sturdy shoes should always be worn if you plan on going to see any archeological sights to keep you sure footed and able to explore.

Beaches and Beach Clubs in Playa del Carmen and The Rivera Maya

Nuddy Beach Club and Bar: Located both in Playa del Carmen and in Tulum, Nuddy beach, pronounced nudie, is the quintessential beach club with lounger beds, bathing beauties, trendy tunes, and buckets of beers. Located just south of Mamitas Beach in Playa del Carmen, and about a mile south of the ruins in Tulum, it is a great place to people watch and enjoy everything the Mayan Rivera has to offer.

Mamitas Beach: Located in Playa del Carmen, Mamitas Beach and Beach Club has been around for years, but after being severely damaged by Hurricane Wilma, it has received a major facelift, and it is a favorite beach spot for both locals and visitors. It has beautiful covered beach beds, beach volleyball, excellent beach access, great tunes, and a restaurant and bar on site. It is also the annual host for the fashion show produced by Fashion TV. The best way to get to Mamitas is by the access road on Avenue First South between 28th and 30th Streets.

Tukan Beach: Tukan Beach and Beach Club is located directly between Mamitas and Nuddy Beach. Recently it also had a major face lift similar to Mamitas. Actually Tukan and Mamitas kind of just meld together to create the ultimate beach experience. Beautiful beaches, beautiful people, yummy food, water sports, and premiere lounging spots, you will not be disappointed.

Coco Beach: Considered as the northern beach this is a bit of a jaunt from Playa Mamitas and Playa Tukan, Coco Beach is considered to be more laid back and less trendy then its sister beaches to the south. But keep in mind that it is getting developed and there is a beach club in the works for the upcoming season.

Xpu-ha Beach: Located just south of Puerto Aventuras you can access this amazing stretch of beach by a sign that reads "La Playa" on your left hand side. If you miss the turn you can go a bit further south and there is a very small access road just north of the Copacabana Resort. This stretch of beach is a true slice of heaven with palm trees sprinkled along the shoreline, excellent snorkeling, and various cafes and bars that you can grab a bite to eat or a cold beer. Although there are a few resorts that have access to this beach that have yet to take over completely and you can definitely while away an afternoon relaxing, and enjoying this quiet and tranquil Caribbean beach.

Tulum Beach and Playa Paraiso: Just to the south of the Tulum ruins there is an incredible stretch of beach even less populated then Xpu Ha. There are small palapa style hotelitos and cabanas along this beach that you can stay in that are relatively inexpensive. At the same time there are also trendy and chic beach resorts such as Mezzanine that will pamper you silly. Tulum is a very popular spot for kite boarding so you are likely to see the skyline peppered with colorful kites on a windy day. Overall this is one of our favorite beach spots that is in our area.

Topless beaches in Playa del Carmen and The Rivera Maya: Although it is actually illegal to sunbathe nude or topless on Mexico beaches, in Playa del Carmen and the Rivera Maya, it is tolerated. Due to the major European influences in the area most beaches you will see topless sun worshippers trying to get as much sun on their bare bodies. There are also clothing optional resorts and spas that cater to couples who want to vacation in the buff. Some remote area beaches you can strip down and bare it all. Keep in mind that Mexican Nationals are a conservative bunch so respect the locals, and if you are in a remote area keep a beach wrap close by. In addition women should always practice caution and safely if sunbathing nude or topless in a tucked away location or low traffic area.
